The first question almost every client asks is, "How long will this take?" In truth, there is no one size fits all answer to that question. It depends on many factors: How much does the organization already have in place that will meet requirements? How large and complex is the organization? How much relevant expertise does the organization already have? How available are people to be involved in the development and implementation of the management system? How involved is top management, and are they willing to provide adequate resources? Where is achieving certification on the organization's list of priorities? We've had organizations take substantially less time and substantially more time than the fairly conservative timeline below. In general, a year is a fairly conservative estimate for an organization that prioritizes achieving certification and is not unusually large or complex.
